HOCHMAN AWARDED
2011 AVERY FISHER CAREER GRANT

March-14-2011

Benjamin Hochman has been announced as a 2011 recipient of an Avery Fisher Career Grant. Given to talented instrumentalists believed to have great potential for solo careers, Hochman will receive an award stipend of $25,000 to use for specific needs in furthering his career.

Recipients are nominated by the Avery Fisher Program's Recommendation Board. Final selections are made by an Executive Committee represented by some of the most prominent artists and presenters throughout the United States. Since the first Career Grants were given in 1976, 121 have been awarded (including this year’s grants), and all recipients are currently working musicians.

This year’s announcement takes place at Lincoln Center’s Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse for an invited audience. The ceremony and performances by the recipients will air Wednesday, March 30, from 9 - 10 pm on Classical 105.9 FM ~ WQXR. WNET SundayArts will also feature the 2011 recipients.
